The scope of Kettal’s Stand for the Salone del Mobile 2019 was to exhibit and tell the story of the Richard Neutra Pavilion. On show was a commercialized copy of the VDL house’s Penthouse Pavilion. The stand’s design gave appropriate context to this piece of architectural history, by finding the balance between a restrained ambiance, to enhance the pavilion, and a proper architectural language for the stand. The scaled brick wall façade was developed as a semi-transparent element, protecting interior activities, while allowing outside glances. A colour and material palette was kept in white and light grey tones. Products were emphasised with a smoothly changing light performance, following the changing daylight.
