Moroso’s stand at the 2016 Salone del Mobile in Milan revolves around the concept of the Japanese Tokonoma, a small alcove created in the tearoom, outlined by a platform free of any decorative elements. The 600 square-metre space was divided into exhibition spaces and passageways. A geometrical, regular distribution (where the tokonoma were inserted) is delimited by platforms, protected by transparent, coloured panels. Fabrics and colours play with transparencies and shades: connecting the exhibition spaces together, it allowed each one to be perceived as a frame for the desired image. Overlapping canvases creates depth and spaciousness, an informal, free perspective approach, transmitting an absolute sensation of harmony.
