The Rome Edition

The interior project designed by Patricia Urquiola for Edition hotel in Rome started and developed from the genius loci, the building designed by the architect Cesare Pascoletti in collaboration with architect Marcello Piacentini, one of Italy’s most famed architects of Rationalism in the early 20th century. Clean and sharp lines, pure colors and rich geometries are fundamental elements of rationalist architecture which Patricia Urquiola decides to revive inside Edition Hotel. The history of the building lives in the references that outline the interiors, in the choice of finishes and in particular of the stones: specifically, the Travertine, in its various variations of finishes, becomes an important design element, common thread of all areas.
