The Gender armchair for Cassina has a versatile identity springing from an interplay of colours and materials. Through the wide possible choice of colours and materials, Patricia Urquiola wanted to make clients think upon the gender bias linked to design as well. Gender’s soft padded interior converses with the rigid exterior, enhanced by a coloured leather edge that accentuates its sinuosity. You sit back, the chair responds, tilting gently up to 12 degrees from vertical, reverting to normal when the pressure is removed, and creating a gentle, rocking motion. One of a kind, the seat of the Gender armchair features a coloured leather trim that sets off its gentle curves to perfection. Available in seven colours, the chair is complemented by the foot-rest.
